GENERAL RULES

Rules subject to change with out notice according to the Porter County Fair. Mechanics are subject to and must obey the following rules and regulations which are set up by the Porter County Fair.

$30.00 ENTRY FEE FOR DRIVER AND CAR
All Pit Passes will be $15.00

Pay outs for the following events: All Kids will Receive Medals for Participation in the Power Wheels Demo Guaranteed Minimum of $5,100 in purses to be paid for Sunday night show.
80% of entry fees to be paid out for each class to the winners (1st & 2nd).

  1. Any announcement made the day of the event supercedes any and all written material

  2. Each driver must fill out an entry blank. All drivers must supply their own cars, only one entry per person. Proof of ownership should accompany each car entered.

  3. All racers participate at their own risk to themselves and their equipment.

  4. NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED!!  ZERO TOLERANCE! No drinking or alcoholic beverages on track, emergency vehicle area or in the pit area. Any driver or pit person under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be immediately disqualified and removed from the grounds.

  5. Any rider or ATV/Truck that causes and damage to KOI Drag Racing Equipment will be held liable for damages.  If you hit any equipment you are disqualified for that round, this includes center line/cones.

  6. All riders/driver must sign a release form before participating in any event.

  7. Any rider under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian signature on release form

  8. ATV & BIKES riders must wear a full faced DOT approved helmet with chin strap strapped NO sandals or slippers

  9. ALL truck drivers (except street trucks) Must wear DOT approved helmet. Can be full faced or open faced.

  10. NO STUDDED TIRES/ NO EXCEPTION

  11. Nitrous, turbo charger, superchargers can be used in OPEN classes only.  NOS main line must be disconnected in all other classes.

  12. Double or single eliminations determined by # of entries, (over 75 single elimination)

  13. Track will have boundaries.  Out of bounds will be a disqualification this includes cones on center line.

  14. When your called you have 1 minutes to stage

  15. Starting judge’s decision is final

  16. For Truck classes- driver must have a valid driver’s license to compete

  17. Trucks can be hauled or driven in unless specified

  18. KOI Officials reserve the right to make a SAFETY call at any time.

  19. NO PIT RIDING!  If caught you will be disqualified without warning and asked to leave event without refund.  We do this for safety.

  20. Vehicles  can be teched at anytime with pump or scope.  Refusal of tech or caught cheating will result in being dqed from the current event and will not be allowed to participate in the next 3 events.  Also $200 protest fee, if protested, driver of protested truck and tech person will check truck.  If protest passes the protested driver keeps the money.

  21. All dirt bikes/ motorcycles should have card board or disk to catch start beam to prevent red lights.

  22. No 2 stroke and 4 stroke run together unless specified.

  23. If a participant knowingly enters a class they do NOT belong in they will be removed without refund.

  24. Please note kids receive one trophy per night.

  25. On the event of a double red light the worst red light looses.

  26. Any quad or bike that runs a 4.0 or faster at 200′ MUST have a kill switch

  27. Only one rider per one bike/truck/quad per one class

  28. Registration closes when eliminations start.

  29. Will have 2 et classes (one trucks, one quad) at certain races (time permitting)  both classes will have a $20 entry and rider/driver is responsible for getting times.

  30. Only one person in staging lanes with rider

  31. Each driver must be legal age per state or must hold a valid seniors drivers license and have a notarized release signed by his or her parent or guardian.

  32. The track or promoter reserves the right to approve or reject any and all entries.

  33. Only owners, drivers, mechanics, etc…, who sign the release sheet will be permitted in the pit area or on the track. Driver only receives free pit pass on the day of the show.

  34. Contestants of the Porter County Fair demolition derby are not employees of the track, fair association, or the Porter County demolition derby.

  35. Porter County Demolition Derby, Fair Association, or K&F Promotions will not be held responsible for any car, parts or personal property before, during and after the show or over night.

  36. The driver is responsible for his pit crew

  37. No cars will be allowed on the grounds with any type of glass. NO EXCEPTIONS.

  38. ALL CARS must be prepared according to the rules and regulations and ready for inspection upon entering the grounds.

  39. Each driver and mechanic must sign in at register desk the day of the show and have their car inspected at least one hour prior to show time.

  40. Safety belts, Z-90 approved helmet, goggles, or face shields are required. Fire Suit or Mill Greens are Mandatory!

  41. No deliberate head-on collisions and No deliberate hitting on the drivers door.

  42. All cars are to be removed from the grounds following the show or they will become the property of the Porter County Fair Grounds.

  43. Any hardtop automobile or station wagon is allowed. No Imperials, trucks, convertibles, jeeps, hearses, limousines, or 4-wheel drive cars are allowed.

Classes 1-5 are kids classes, no wheelie bars, must have stock frame.

Power Wheels Demo

  1. All kids will and their power wheels will participate at the same time.

  2. All Kids must where a helmet

Four Stroke Trail Class

  1. Oem length frame, swing arm can be up to a +2

  2. Must have front and back brakes

  3. Must have shocks

  4. No straps/ tiedowns

  5. NO wheelie bars

  6. Stock placed exhaust/ can be aftermarket (must have muffler)

  7. Full sized woods tires on front and back

  8. No Bar tire

  9. NO NOS, super chargers, turbo charger, no nitro

  10. No cut tranny (must use clutch)

  11. Must clear a 4″ block with rider on it, ride over it with tires,  idle speed

  12. No cool down time

  13. No street bike motors.   Must be ATV or Dirt Bike type

  14. Must have front and rear plastics

Two Stroke Trail

Rules & Regulations

  1. The front bumper may be changed to a car style bumper. Bumpers may also be welded solid to the frame. A small plate may be added from the bumper to the frame.

  2. Steering columns may be altered.

  3. Steering column components such as: Tie rod ends, control arms, ball joints, and center links may be reinforced.

  4. A four point cage may be added. Four down bars may be added from the cage to the frame. Down bars must be straight down and must be inside the cab. Two down bars from back of cab bar, may go through the cab and into the bed and be welded to the frame. They may not go back any farther than two feet from the back of the cab. All other cage bar may not go farther back than two feet from behind the back of the drivers seat (for vans).

  5. Gas tanks must be in the middle of the bed against the back of the cab.

  6. Tailgate may be welded solid.

  7. Hood may be bolted down in four places, just like the cars.

  8. Doors may be welded solid.

  9. Cab and bed may be welded solid.

  10. All other rules for weld class will apply

Bombers

  1. Same set up rules for cars apply to all bomber cars.

  2. Bomber class will include 4 & 6 cylinder cars with a maximum of a 110 inch wheel base.

  3. Stock fuel tanks are allowed.

Stock Class

  1. Only the car that qualified for the feature may run in the feature. No borrowing, of other cars for future event.

  2. Remove all glass including windshield, side windows, rear window, head and tail lights. Rolling windows down is not permitted.

  3. Chrome molding strips and the bottom portion of the rear seats must be removed.

  4. Any sharp protruding fins or dangerous objects (mash down or cut off).

  5. No special bumpers, reinforcements, fabrications, helper springs, air shocks, or trailer hitches permitted.

  6. Suspension must remain stock for that year, make, and model of car. No altering rear upper or lower trailing arms on rear ends, No adding leafs to leaf springs, 7 leafs max, leaf springs must be stock. Rear ends may be changed as long as they are bolted in stock position. No 8 Lug rear ends allowed.

  7. Radiators must remain in original position or be taken off. Transmission coolers are permitted but only if they are secured inside the engine compartment or inside an enclosed box, inside of the car. Welded solid or chained down engine mounts recommended.

  8. All doors must be fastened shut by wire, straps, chains, or welded for the driver’s safety. If welded, only from the bottom of the door to the top of the door skin, no welds around window frames. A maximum of three patches 3” x 6” per door if they are welded.

  9. Two 12 - volt batteries, any size, will be permitted. Battery must be removed from original position, it must be placed on floor board of driver’s compartment and securely fastened with metal straps, No Bungee Cords, and covered.

  10. Hood may be bolted or wired down in four places. Two in the front through the front core supports through the hood bolts no larger than 3/4 inch all thread and a 4 inch washer may be used. Trunks may be wired in 4 places or bolted in two places sheet metal to sheet metal. No welds on hood, trunk or tailgate. No chains, bands or pins may be used. Hood and trunk must be left open until after inspection, hood springs removed.

  11. Stock tank must be removed and cannot be used. Portable tanks must be used, and placed in the back seat area on the drivers side, no farther forward than the rear of the front seat. All tanks must be securely fastened to floor and covered by fire proof shield. Gas lines and fittings to fuel tanks must be secured and leak proof. Only metal or rubber gas lines permitted. No plastic lines! Approximately four (4) gallons of gas permitted per heat. Electric fuel pumps are permitted with a switch on the dash clearly marked. Inspection officials will give final approval on tanks and fittings and fastened tanks. Rubber straps are not allowed. Metal strapping only. Boat tank recommended. No plastic gas, water jugs, thinner cans, etc…, if a plastic tank is used, it must be secured inside a metal box and covered.

  12. Gas tank and battery covers are recommended.

  13. A 12” x 18” number plate must be attached to the roof of the car, along with numbers painted on driver's door. This is mandatory.

  14. Steering column may be aftermarket. Steering's components such as tie rod ends, control arms, ball joints or cent link cannot be altered or re-enforced, they all must remain stock.

  15. It is mandatory that an opening be cut in hood over carburetor, approximately 18” in diameter. MANDATORY removing hood latch in case of fire. If stacks are used, two 12” holes must be cut around the stacks.

  16. Any rim and tire combination is allowed.

  17. It is no longer permitted to mash down the rear section of any vehicle.

  18. Engine: Any engine and trans combo can be used. Lower engine cradle mounts may be used but only to hold motor in.

  19. 4 point cage, dash bar, behind drivers seat bar, drivers door and passenger door bar and 4 down bars to sheet metal only are permitted. Roll over bars are permitted.

  20. Vehicles must have dependable brakes at all times and boundaries must be observed. Or you will be disqualified.

  21. After market break set ups may be used. No pinion breaks allowed.

  22. All suspension must remain stock for that year, make, and model of car, but may be welded solid.

  23. A bar or chain must be added to the center of the front windshield. A chain only may be added to the center of the back windshield.

  24. Bumpers may be welded. Shocks may be welded to frame. A chain may be added from bumper to frame - 1 per side. No special bumper shocks, or brackets, stock OEM bumper shocks and brackets only! You may change bumpers.

  25. Chain, wire, or cable must be in place from the front fire wall to the roof.

  26. Body Mounts: Only core supports and four trunk mounts may be changed.

  27. No frame welding will be allowed - period.

  28. Steering: Steering Columns may be changed. Steering components, such as tie rod ends, control arms, ball joints, or center link, can not be altered or re-enforced, must remain stock.

  29. Home made or aftermarket shifters will be allowed.

  30. Gas/Break pedal may be aftermarket.

  31. No distributor protectors of any kind.

  32. Any pre-run car that has a bent rail may be pushed down and one patch may be added to one side of the bend only! The patch may be no larger than 3 inch by 6 inches by 1/4 inch thick. All cracks may be welded only, you may not add any metal to fill a crack.

  33. A bend to the rear humps may be beat in and one patch may be added to one side of the of the frame 3 inches by 6 inches by 3/8 inch thick. No angle iron of any kind will be allowed.

  34. All rear-ends may be changed as long as they are bolted in Stock position.

  35. You may use any motor or trans combination you desire.

  36. If it does not say you can do it above, that means you can not do it. No distributor protectors or any after market cradles, protectors etc.

FULL WELD CLASS

  1. Core support may be bolted with all thread rod, you may run it from the frame through the hood. No larger than 7/8’s inch.

  2. Wire, chain, or bolt the hood down in 6 spots. The all thread through the hood counts as two.

  3. A hole must be in hood for fire detection.

  4. Battery: Two batteries of any size are permitted in front passenger floor board. Must be secured and covered.

  5. Tires: Any tire size is permitted, NHS tires and skid steer tires are permitted. Valve stem protectors are aloud. Solid foam filled and double tires are permitted. Steal plate attached to the rims are permitted.

  6. Radiator must remain in stock position.

  7. Bumpers: Any passenger car bumper may be used. You may use a home made bumper, it must be no bigger than 6x6x3/8’s of an inch thick. Fabricated bumpers must be a straight piece of metal, ends must be left open, No v’s. Can not be wider than car or fenders. You may hard nose your frame. You may weld a quarter inch thick plate no longer than 10” per frame rail measuring from the back of the bumper and no wider than the frame width. Top side of bottom of the frame, leave it to your preference. You may weld bumper horns to both sides of the frame in place of the 10” plate. Bumper horns may not be wider than the frame, they can be welded solid. Stock bumpers may be loaded or stuffed, must have skin on it.

  8. Rear ends: Differential of any make up to three quarter ton trucks may be used, differentials may be braced from backing plate to backing plate only.

  9. Rear suspension: Leaf springs are allowed, you can weld spacer blocks to set height of the car, spacers can not re-enforce frame in any way. No more than 7 leafs and no wider than 3 inches. No more than 6 clamps per side. Rear bumper height no lower than 18” from bottom of bumper. After market suspension parts are permitted. If you leaf spring your car, you can NOT have hump plates.

  10. Front suspension: May be welded solid. A-arms may be welded directly to frame. (No adding of metal or re-enforcing of the frame). Front bumper height of no more than 24” of bottom of bumper. After market suspension parts are permitted. Re-enforced aftermarket tie rod ends are allowed. Any passenger car steering box is allowed. If you use a different steering box other than factory it must be mounted to the frame. You may make a brace for the steering box to mount to the frame. You can weld the brackets to the frame, no adding metal of gussying up. • Windshield must have one bar, chain, or wire attached from roof to fire wall.

  11. Windshield must have one bar, chain, or wire attached from roof to fire wall.

  12. Body mounts: Can be removed, body bolts can not be larger than 5/8’s except for the 7/8’s all thread on the front. No extra body mount bolts will be allowed. Washers can not be larger than 2” made from quarter inch plate. You can run body bolts through bottom of the frame.

  13. No double skinning of the body. If you are running a pre ran car, you can patch the metal of same thickness and not to exceed two inches of tear in the metal. Fenders and corded panels may be bolted. No additional metal may be added. Bolts can only be bolted to sheet metal of car, no limit to size or quantity. You can crease the body of your car.

  14. Doors: Doors may be welded solid with flat bar no larger than quarter inch thick by 3 inches wide. Trunk seam may be welded solid with flat bar no larger than quarter inch thick by 3 inches wide. Trunk may be pre bent or tucked.

  15. Cage: Any style cage is permitted. Gas tank protector is permitted. Down bars are permitted. All bars can be welded to sheet metal only. Roll over bars are permitted. You can run a bar from the roof down to no further than half of the trunk lid. Kickers are aloud (no larger than 2”) they must run from dash bar to frame rails just behind the A-arms, if they are larger than 2 inches, you will be required to cut them out.

  16. Frame: Tilting is aloud, no additional metal can be added to the frame, A-arms may be welded directly to frame. Rear hump plates are allowed, only on cars running coil springs. Rear hump plates can not be larger than 4” wide by 2 Feet long by quarter inch thick. You can weld hump plates solid. If you are running a pre ran car that has a torn or bent frame you can patch area that is bent or torn with quarter inch plate, Patch may not exceed 2 inches passed tear or bend, you can weld patch plates solid. You may not weld any bar or support from drivers frame rail to passenger frame rail. With the exception a trans cross member and rear of engine cradle support. No loading frames, frames must be empty. Frame seams may be welded top and bottom.

  17. Engine: Any engine and trans combo can be used. Engine cradles are allowed. Distributors are allowed and can be apart of engine cradle. Transmission protectors are allowed and can be tied into engine cradle. Engine cradle can be bolted or welded to front cross member. The rear engine cradle support may only have one support per side and can not go past front body mounts. Trans protectors can not tie to frame in any way. Trans coolers are allowed, they can be located inside of car and they must be kept in rear seat area with lines double clamped.

Four and Six Cylinder Classes

  1. Tires: Any size DOT tire allowed. No cuts or paddles.

  2. Suspension: Must be factory type (lift kits and traction bars allowed).

Street Gas Class

  1. Stock Engine and Transmission only.

  2. No performance products. (After market intakes ok, after market carbs ok up to 800 cfm, headers are ok capped).

  3. NO Aftermarket heads or block.

  4. Tires: DOT approved.

  5. Must have tags, license and insurance.

  6. No Diesels in this class.

  7. Must run 93 or less gas, NO E85.

  8. No cool down time.

Diesel Class

  1. DOT approved tires.

  2. Run what you bring.

Small Block Stock

  1. Factory type carbs, no after market heads.

  2. Headers are ok but must have exhaust including muffler behind the cab.

  3. No internal changes other than stock replacement parts.

  4. Lift kits are ok but no other suspension modifications.

  5. No NOS and only DOT tires are allowed.

  6. No cool Down time

Small Block Super Stock

  1. Headers, dual plane intakes, no dominators, performance cams ok but nothing radical.  

  2. No aluminum heads or blocks unless they came from the factory.

  3. No aftermarket blocks. 

  4. No aftermarket heads.

  5. No gutting is allowed and must have the full body.

  6. No superchargers, blowers, NOS or trans brakes.

  7. Springs must be in factory location, and ladder bars are allowed, but no 3 link or 4 link allowed.

  8. DOT tires allowed only.

Small Block Super Stock OUTLAW

  1. Aftermarket intakes, carbs and headers allowed and can be uncapped.

  2. Dominator carbs are ok. No aluminum heads or blocks unless they came from the factory No aftermarket blocks.

  3. No gutting is allowed and must have the full body.

  4. No superchargers, blowers, NOS or trans brakes.

  5. Springs must be in factory location, and ladder bars are allowed, but no 3 link or 4 link allowed.

  6. DOT tires allowed only.

Small Block Modified

  1. No super chargers, no blowers, no full fiberglass bodies, no NOS.

  2. Transbrakes are ok

  3. DOT tires only are allowed.

  4. Cleats are allowed

Big Block Stock

  1. Aftermarket intakes ok, factory type carbs, no after market heads.  

  2. Headers are ok but must have exhaust including muffler behind the cab.
